Windowspan Ltd accepts no responsibility or liability whatsoever for miss-use of its products, through improper, careless or non-standard use.
It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that when using the Windowspan product, it must be in conjunction with current Standard Ladder Industry Practices, and that the base of the ladder to which the unit is attached is secured in a manner recommended by the Ladders and Working at Height (LAWH) Regulations so that it cannot slip, ideally the ladder should anchored to the wall to which it is intended to be leaned against.
The ladder must not exceed the 1in 4 rule.
The Windowspan product must not be used for any other purpose than designed.
The use of a safety harness requires that the Windowspan is securely screwed to the window recess, utilising the ‘recess Lock Lugs’,and the ‘wall lock lugs’ or alternatively secured through the window via a 50mm wooden bar and ratchet straps, and that the base is secured to the wall as per LAWH Requirements. The Operator should not undertake any work on ladders unless they are fully conversant with the current Government guidelines, available at :- https://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg401.pdf, and have attended and passed the current training programme for working on ladders.
The use of the Windowspan product IS ENTIRELY AT THE OPERATORS RISK.
The 12 month warranty extends to replacement or repair only.
